Pilanesberg Experience

The Pilanesberg National Park, is situated in an ancient volcanic crater near Sun City. The Pilanesberg Nature Reserve is home to the 'Big Five' (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant & Buffalo) and has no less than 350 species of birds.
The Pilanesberg National Park is well-known worldwide.

The Pilanesberg Nature Reserve has in excess 7000 animals. This includes 24 of the larger species. These animals live in a diverse & arresting bushveld terrain. The park is famous for it's 'Big Five' - lion, leopard, rhino, elephant & buffalo. A wide variety of rare & common species also exist - zebra, giraffe, hippo, crocodile are but just a few.

Over 300 different types of birds are recorded to be in the park. Some being migrants others being permanent. There is a self-guided trail in the Walking Area at Manyane which offers environmental education whilst enjoying bird watching. Manyane Camp also has a Walk In Aviary with over 80 species of indigenous birds.

The Pilanesberg Nature Reserve has almost 200 km of good quality roads for either self drivers or professional guided tours. There are numerous picnic spots available throughout the park.

This mini safari to Pilanesberg Nature Reserve is suitable for people who want to see the big 5 but have less time or want to travel malaria free. You will leave early in the morning from Pretoria in one of our mini-busses (with aircon) and a guide. With the help of our guides you will have a good chance to see a several wild animals in this beautiful nature area.

Travel duration: 1 day (approximately 3 hours)

Because we want to give our guests a lot of personal attention, we will take a maximum of 6 persons per guide, on this special all-in safari in the Pilanesberg Nature Reserve. There will be more guides available for the bigger groups.

Bookings need to be made in advance, because of the limited availability of qualified guides, especially in high season.
